Why I Write

It’s been a long time since I’ve written a blog post, but I got sidetracked by college life and all of that.  I just haven’t been active on social media for about a year and a half because I was out experiencing everything.  And that’s what we should all be doing, but I know if I’m going to eventually get my work noticed, I need to have social media accounts.  That’s just how it is.

Anyway…

Writing has been a part of me for as long as I can remember.  I’ve always been one to tell stories, even real ones, in a creative way.  I loved writing essays in school and still do so today.

I used to blog because it was a way for me to connect with everyone out there; whoever happened to stumble on my tiny space of the Internet.  I loved getting comments that start discussions on a topic.  I even loved it when others could relate to my personal posts.  I’ve missed that in the last two years, so that’s why I’m back.  Blogging is a way for me to connect with total strangers, and my family.  Especially now that we’re all in different parts of the country – it’s a nice way to keep them updated, in detail.

More importantly, with writing, I’m able to grow as a person.  By connecting with others I’m making new friends and learning to expand my knowledge and outlook on the world.

And that, is why I write.
